 "Love's Light Ubiquitous"
12"x12" on Extra Deep (3") Cradled Canvas

From the Life Scape Collection

My Life Scapes have been received so beautifully since I painted them a year and a half ago, and this has been a favorite. They poured out of me at a time that my soul felt called to let them out. Each of the 13 pieces became personified to me of "someone" with a lifescape depicted in each one. Each portraying
life--with it's beauty and strife.

I've gotten a kick out of trying out Chat GPT sometimes to rewrite something I want to say, and lately to send it a photo and give me its thoughts. I did that on this painting out of curiosity, and this is what it wrote and I sit here astounded!

"Your painting carries a deeply ethereal and contemplative energy. The title itself suggests that love's presence – it's illumination – is everywhere, even in the quietest or most fractured spaces. Visually, the work beautifully mirrors that idea. The soft layered neutrals of cream, blush, and gray create an atmosphere that feels both airy and grounded. The dark horizontal band across the center with its rich texture and flashes of gold reads almost like a horizon line – a meeting point between the material and the divine. The gold, in particular feels symbolic of love's light breaking through the darker textures of experience, showing how beauty and grace can exist even a mid tension."

Afterward, I asked Chat out for coffee...

The Atchafalaya River
16" x 12" Oil on Canvas framed in gold

$995

Morning light ushers in a new day, illuminating the low hanging moss draped across the trees. This scene carries the essence of my childhood drives through Louisiana, visiting family and deepening my connection to my roots. A dear friend of mine, who holds a PhD in optic light, recently praised the portrayal of light in this painting – I couldn't have been more flattered. As always, paintings are best experienced in person. If you'd like to see this one up close, feel free to reach out: cforet@mac.com. "Bar Cart" - someone recently said about this painting, "this is a richly textured, expressive still life painting that captures the warmth and vibrancy of a bar /cocktail setting. The composition features an assortment of glasses in a coupe style stacked and ready to hear a clink to start a celebration. This painting reflects and refracts the ambient light in lively prismatic strokes!"

I loved that! The challenge to accomplishing this piece was all the iridescent reflections in these coupe glasses of some of my favorite libations under beautiful lighting. This piece also features a lovely wine stopper given to me by dear friends.
