Girly Girls Raise a Paint Brush!

Last night was so much fun having a bunch of fun ladies who were ready to enjoy a nice evening of wine, hors' doeuvres and painting!

After we mingled enjoying a bite to eat and drink we began painting plenty of pink blush, red lipstick and Chanel No. 5!  They did a fantastic job, and as usual, I feel like I have the best clients in the world.  Last night was no exception!

I love when the young gals come and paint with me--this is Katie Kuykendall and Melessa Hood.  Didn't they do a wonderful job??

Next Wine & Paint Nights:

Thursday, March 5 - Cajun Night - Food Still Life
Tuesday, March 31 - Crosses - Whimsical, abstract

My Friend Stephanie Hogan

Wow, it's been amazing watching Stephanie on The Bachelor this season.  In fact, since my friend can't say anything about the show or her experience, I've learned more about her and her experience just watching the show and news shows.  I'm tired of it!  I miss talking, Steph!  We have to get together soon!

Steph was the most wonderful woman on the show.  Hands down.  And if you actually met her, you would realize how dynamic of a gal she is in reality.  I honestly think her whole being was too much for Jason.  I think Jason is a wonderful man--if everything you see on TV is real--it IS isn't it??, but Stephanie has SO much to offer that I think he just didn't feel like he would be enough for her.  My opinion...  Read her exit interview done by Reaity TV World.

This is the Stephanie I know.  A sweet and doting mother and wife.  I had the honor of shooting a pregnancy shoot and newborn shoot with her, and I'd never had such a beautiful subject!  And I was so thankful that we were able to get Steve in some of our shots--the new family.  Sophia was about 2 weeks old here.  Then Steve was killed in that plane crash just weeks later.  Stephanie has a whole series of these pictures in her home--along with probably 10-12 of my paintings.  She is wonderful client and friend.  I hope to spend some time with her soon--when things settle down a bit--and she can "talk." ;)

Fantastic Painting Retreat Weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend of painting this weekend.  Four lovely ladies came from out of town to spend time painting during an intense New Year New You Workshop.  And they did a fantastic job!  We started Friday night with a relaxed Wine & Cheese Gathering to meet up and get to know one another.  And today we met to paint all day!  We painted a Starbucks cup still life on a 12 x 12 canvas, then we worked on a bigger canvas.  A couple of gals worked on a large 36x24 canvas, painting a lovely piece of her daughter, and the other painting a pear still life.  I was really impressed.  Then Susan, painted a beautiful Italian landscape on her 24 x 12 canvas.  Awesome!  When we finished, we had a short critique and then said our goodbyes.  I'm blessed for such wonderful people in my life.

Susan Irby Feser making final touches on her Starbucks painting.

Lovely time ladies.  Thank you, and I hope to work with you again soon!

Billie Fresh Off the Easel!

full shot of the painting 48x24

detail

Got Black History Month on my mind here in my studio! Last week I painted B. B. King, and this week? Billie Holiday! I'm posting it FRESH off my easel without really studying it much. I may make some changes since viewing the photos, it now seems a bit cartoon-y, which means "tight." So, let me know what you think!

Gus is great company to me!

He just LOVES watching me paint!
